Strategi Pengelolaan Kecemasan Pada Anak Paud Di Sekolah Paud Kasih Yobel Nes Kabupaten Timor Tengah Selatan

Children in early childhood often suffer from anxiety. There are many things that make children anxious, especially children who have started school (PAUD). At Preschool Kasih Jubilee Nes school, there are several children who suffer from anxiety. Therefore, this research aims to find out the causes of anxiety in children and the strategies that teachers use to overcome children's anxiety. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach and interview techniques. The sampling technique used a purposive sampling technique where the selected participants in this research were teachers at Kasih Jubilee Nes Preschool and also seven parents. The results of this research show that the causes of children feeling anxious in school are because children do not want to be separated from caregivers namely parents, they feel uncomfortable in new environments and furthermore, children experience bullying by peers at school. The symptoms that present in children include restlessness and difficulty concentrating, emotional feelings when speaking, feelings of shame, and a weak body awareness. The management strategies that teachers use to overcome children's fears are based on natural play techniques, drawing and art techniques, listening to children's complaints, and providing a sense of comfort to the children. Therefore, it is important to know the causes of the symptoms and concrete strategies to manage anxiety in children. The suggestions in this research are that teachers and parents are expected to be able to improve the self- concept of children suffering from anxiety, they need to identify children's strengths and weaknesses, provide motivation and praise for the small steps children take, parents are expected to be able to improve understanding of the symptoms of children with anxiety, encourage children to have social contact, and implement positive actions that children achieve so that children are happy.
