Educators (Teachers) must be creative in choosing and determiningappropriate methods or approaches to apply in learning. This research aimstofindout students' perspectives on the use of the Self-Directed Learning methodinlearning English, to find out the effectiveness of applying the Self-DirectedLearningmethod in learning English and also to find out what difficulties students facewhenapplying the Self-Directed Learning method Learning. This research was carriedoutusing descriptive methods with a qualitative approach, with the researchsubjectsbeing 30 students of class XI IPA 2 at SMAN 2 East Kupang. The data collectiontechniques used are questionnaires, observation and documentation studiesaswell as some data to see the validity of the data. The research results were obtainedfrominterviews with students and some information data regarding the Self-DirectedLearning method which was carried out after face-to-face learning and was designedin the form of giving independent assignments through modules/books. Basedonthe overall research results, it was concluded that the perspective of class However, there are also several difficulties experienced by students, such as students' limitations in mastering English, lack of media that supports students' learningprocess, and boredom and the desire to do other things while studying whichcaninterfere with students' learning concentration.
