A Comparative Study Between Watch And Repeat Technique And Crossword Puzzle To Increase The Mastery Of Vocabulary Of Seven Grade Students At Smp Negeri 1 Rote Barat

This research focuses to found the significant from the both of techniques. This research aims To know whether watch and repeat technique is more effective than crossword puzzle techanique in improving student’s vocabulary mastery. The data of this research are all uttered by sixty students of seven grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Rote Barat. The method used in this research is quantitative research and used writtent test as the data collection. The findings of the research showed the students vocabulary mastery obtained from the test. The research found that the result of the students’ mean score of post-test (9.25) in experimental group was greater than the mean score of post test (7.44) in control group. The standard deviation of post-test in experimental group was 0.53 and the standard deviation of post-test in control group was 1.84. The value of t-test (2.54924) was greater than t-table (1.67203) at the level of significance 0.05 with degree of freedom (df) = 60. Based on the finding and discussion of this research, the researcher concluded that there was a significant difference between watch and repeat technique and crossword puzzle to increase the students vocabulary mastery at class VII A and VII B of SMP Negeri 1 Rote Barat.
