An Analysis Of Illocutionary Act In Natoni Of Welcoming President Joko Widodo In South Central Timor Regency

This thesis is entitled: ‘An Analysis of Illocutionary Acts in Natoni of Welcoming President Joko Widodo in South Central Timor Regency’. The problem of this study is what are illocutionary acts found in Natoni of welcoming President Joko Widodo in South Central Timor regency. This study aims to find out the types of illocutionary acts found in Natoni of welcoming President Joko Widodo in South Central Timor regency. The research design used was descriptive qualitative method. The data resource of this study wasNatoni of welcoming President Joko Widodo. The data were collected by using observation and documentation techniques. The data were analyzed by using the describing technique. The result shows that there are five types of illocutionary acts found in Natoni of welcoming President Joko Widodo, such as representatives is found in 15 utterances, directives is found in 6 utterances, commisive is found in 1 utterance, expressives is found in 4 utterances, and declarations is found in 4 utterances.
