Optimalisasi Peningkatan Mutu Pendidikan Pada SMA Kristen Tarus
XMLABSTRACT
The main problem experienced by schools in general is related to improving the quality of education which includes eight National Education Standards. Tarus Christian High School is an educational institution that has several problems related to the quality of education. In this study the optimization of school quality improvement from the three national education standards is examined namely; Content Standards, Process Standards and Educators and Education Personnel Standards.
This study aims to determine; 1) Planning, implementing and evaluating content standards in Tarus Christian High School, 2) Planning, implementing and evaluating standard processes in Tarus Christian High School and 3) Planning, implementing and evaluating teaching and education staff standards in Tarus Christian High School.
This research uses a qualitative approach. The study design used a case study conducted at Tarus Christian High School. Data collection using interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis method uses a method developed by Miles and Huberman with three steps, namely data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions and verification. The location of his research was Tarus Christian High School.
Discussion on content standards. A school curriculum development team needs to be formed, intracuricular activities, extracurricular activities, personal development activities must be programmed and local mulok activities for culture, dance, language and panga should be introduced to students. The curriculum structure in its implementation needs to be optimized such as utilizing an additional time allocation policy of six to eight hours of learning in learning activities at school. Process standards, for making syllabi and lesson plans that must be done independently. In the learning process as much as possible student books are held by one student one book. The teacher must arrange teaching materials. Teacher and student discipline must also be improved. An assessment of the learning process must still be carried out whether it is done daily, semester or end of the semester. Determination of mastery learning must be based on the minimum completeness criteria set by the teacher with consideration of intake, complexity and carrying capacity when teaching and learning activities. Supervision activities must often be done by principals and supervisors to address teacher problems. Teacher's academic qualifications must be at least a Diploma IV (D-IV) or Bachelor (S1). Education diploma III (D-III) scholarships should be sought or motivated to continue their studies to the undergraduate level (S1) or transferred to educational staff. Teachers must teach according to their competency. Foundations and schools must have teachers with permanent teacher status who are paid according to the applicable Provincial Minimum Wage (PMW) and teachers are struggled to get incentives from the government. Teachers are motivated to take part in teacher professional education and are included in various professional education and training or creativity in learning.
