RETELLING STORY THROUGH PICTURE SERIES TO IMPROVE SPEAKING SKILLS OF EIGHT GRADE STUDENTS OF CITRA BANGSA JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL BY DEBI KALITA MBURU 1601020050 The tittle of this thesis is Retelling Story Through Picture Series To Improve Student’s Speaking Skill Of Eight Grade Students Of Citra Bangsa Junior High School. The research problem are (1)What are the series of procedures of teaching speaking through retelling story? (2)What are the impacts of using picture series through retelling story?. The aims of this study are (1)To find out the series of procedure in teaching speaking through retelling the story. (2)To describe the impacts of picture series through retelling the story. The method of this study is a descriptive qualitative method and the data is taken from eight grade students of Citra Bangsa Junior High School. The result of this study shows that picture series method is suitable media in teaching speaking, it can make students more active, enthusiast, responses, and have fun in the classroom. Retelling story is a strategy that is used to determine how well a student has comprehended specific story. Narrative text is a type of text in English to tell a story that has a series of chronological events that are interconnected. Speaking is an activity of delivering messages, it occurs between speaker and listener orally
