Uji Efektivitas Ekstrak Etanol Daun Kelor (Moringa Oleifera) terhadap Cacing Dewasa Haemonchus contortus secara In Vitro

Haemonchosis is a parasitic disease of the digestive tract that causes a decrease in production efficiency and nutrient absorption in sheep and goats in East Nusa Tenggara, caused by the parasite Haemonchus contortus. The treatment of H. contortus infections generally uses commercial dewormers such as ivermectin, but improper and repeated use can lead to resistance and side effects in livestock. This research was conducted to test the vermicidal effectiveness of ethanol extract from moringa leaves (Moringa oleifera) against adult H. contortus worms. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with six treatments, consisting of a positive control group with 0.010 ml of ivermectin, a negative control group with 25 ml of aqua pro injection, and four treatment groups with moringa leaf extract at concentrations of 100 mg/ml, 50 mg/ml, 25 mg/ml, and 12.5 mg/ml from 1 g/ml aqua pro injection. The results of this study show that moringa leaf extract is effective in killing H. contortus worms, with the time taken to kill the worms at the highest concentration being 360 minutes, compared to the negative group which reached 737.35 minutes, but still does not approach the positive group which had a death time of 107.6 minutes.
