STUDENT EXCHANGE EXPERIENCE AT SAINT LOUIS UNIVERSITY: A REPORT
XMLSEAMEO (Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization) is an intergovernmental organization focused on advancing education, science, and culture in Southeast Asia. One of its flagship programs is SEA TEACHER, a cross-cultural educational project designed to provide pre-service students with teaching experience in Southeast Asian countries. The program aims to enhance participants' understanding of diverse regional education systems while preparing them to become competent and adaptive educators. The author participated in this program at Saint Louis University, Baguio, Philippines, gaining firsthand experience in teaching within a different cultural environment.Through this program, the author developed skills in student-centered teaching methods, such as project-based learning and group collaboration. Additionally, the author recognized the importance of cross-cultural teaching in fostering students' social and communication skills. The SEA TEACHER program not only enriched the author’s perspective on global education but also inspired the application of learned concepts in future teaching practices.
