An Analysis Of Figurative Language In Kenoto Traditional Ceremony Of Sabunese Society In Oesao Village, Kupang Regency
XMLThis research aims to analyze the types and meanings of figurative language in Kenoto traditional ceremony of the sabunese society in Oesao village, Kupang Regency. The Kenoto traditional ceremony is an important part of the dohawu or sabunese heritage that is full of symbolic values and meanings in the form of language. The method used in conducting this research is descriptive qualitative. In collecting the data, the writer used interviews, observation, recorder, documentation, note taking and finally, the writer concluded the result of the research. The result of this research shows that are 15 figurative language and sentences in Kenoto traditional ceremony in Oesao village, Kupang Regency. They are classified into four types: Figure of comparison (simile, metsphor, and personification), figure of opposition (hyperbole and litotes), figure of connection (metonymy, Association, and alliteration), and figure of repetition (epithet).
