Prevalensi Infeksi Cacing Pita pada Ayam Petelur (Gallus gallus) di Peternakan Ayam Petelur Timor Raya Oesao, Kecamatan Kupang Timur, Kabupaten Kupang
XMLTapeworms are one of the endoparasites that often infect laying hens so that it
will cause economic losses for farmers because it can result in growth disruption,
weight loss, decrease in egg production, decreased egg quality, and increased feed
efficiency (FCR). This study aims to identify and calculate the prevalence of
tapeworms in laying hens in Timor Raya Laying Hen Farm Oesao East Kupang
District of Kupang Regency.The samples used in the study were 99 feces of laying
hens and were examined using a simple flotation method. The sample is then
observed under a microscope to identify the type of tapeworm egg that infects the
laying hen. The results showed that the prevalence of tapeworm infection that
occurred in laying hens in The East Timor Laying Hen Farm Oesao East Kupang
District of Kupang Regency from 99 samples 14 samples tested positive for
tapeworm eggs, namely Raillietina sp. with a prevalence rate of 11.1% and
Hymenolepis sp. with a prevalence rate of 3.03%.
