This thesis is entitled “An Analysis of Slangs in Roald Dahl's The BFG Movie, Directed By Steven Spielberg In 2016’’. The writer formulated three research problem questions based on the title, they are: 1). What are the forms of slang used in Roald Dahl's The BFG movie? 2). What are the meanings of slang used in Roald Dahl's The BFG movie? 3). What are the contexts in which the slang is used in Roald Dahl's The BFG movie?. This research aimed to: 1). Identify the forms of slang used in Roald Dahl's the BFG movie. 2). Find out the meaning of each slang used in Roald Dahl's the BFG movie. 3). Find out the contexts in which the slang is used in Roald Dahl's the BFG movie. The writer used qualitative method and the sources of primary data were the pieces of dialogues which found in Roald Dahl's the BFG movie. The writer also used three steps of analyzing the data, they are: identifying, classifying and describing. After analyzing the data, the writer found that, there are 24 forms of slang that occurred in the movie and then, she also found that there are 4 types of meaning in which the slangs were classified, they are: stylistic meaning, reflective meaning, affective meaning and connotative meaning and the last the writer found that there are 3 types of context of the slangs occurred in the movie, they are: person/thing, manner and the last is feeling. The writer also gave some suggestions related to the study to the readers and other researchers.
