A Study On Theme And Moral Values Of The Song Lyrics Heal The World By Michael Jackson

There are two questions to be answered in this research, namely: what is the theme; and what are the moral values of the song’s lyrics “Heal the World” by Michael Jackson? The aims of this research are to find out the theme and the moral values of the song’s lyrics “Heal the World” by Michael Jackson. The method used in this thesis was descriptive qualitative and the data resource was taken from the lyrics of the song “Heal the World” album “dangerous” by Michael Jackson. In this case, the writer downloaded the lyrics of the song “Heal the World”, read all the lyrics of the song than analyzed the meaning of the lyrics by using heuristic followed by hermeneutic readings. The writer classified the theme and moral values of the song based on the meaning. As a result, the writer found the theme of song is lyrics “Heal the World” by Michael Jackson and also four kinds of moral values in the song. The theme is (peace). Then, the four moral values are: moral values related to parents and children, moral values related to love (between humans relations with other), moral values related to humans and education, and moral values related to humans and nature.
