Cultural Meaning and Educational Value of Guti Mehi Ritual in Tapobali Village, Wulandoni District, Lembata Regency
XMLt was used to describe the cultural meanings of Guti Mehi ritual in Tapobali village, and describe the educational values of Guti Mehi ritual in Tapobali village. The research was conducted in Tapobali village, Wulandoni District, Lembata Regency. The data were taken from five informants. The techniques of data collection were interview, observation, note taking, and recording. The data obtained were processed following transcription, translation, selection, and analysis. The result shows that: (1). This ritual is carried out by three people who have an important role in each ritual stage; their names are Molan, Levu Enaj, and Levu Kakaja. (2). There are three important parts of the Guti Mehi ritual, namely: first is Hong Hape, second is Guti Mehi, third is Erepa Enaj. (3) The Guti Mehi ritual also has cultural, social, and educational values. (4). The Tapobali people continue to practice all the rituals and believe in their ancestors who protected or cursed them. In this ritual, some educational values are useful for the people there.
