This research is entitled “ Using Action Learning Strategy In Improving The Speaking Skill Of Grade VIII Students Of SMP Muhammadiyah Kupang In The Academic Year 2020-2021 (Teachers’ Perceptions). This study was conducted to answer the research problem as follows: what are English Foreign Language (EFL) teachers’ of SMP Muhammadiyah Kupang perceptions about action learning strategy in improving English speaking skills of the VIII grade students in the academic year 2020-2021. The aim of this study as follow: to find out the teachers’ of SMP Muhammadiyah Kupang perceptions about action learning strategy in improving English speaking skill of the VIII students in the academic year 2020-2021. The research used a descriptive qualitative technique. The data was collected using interviews, analyzed data, and conclusion data. In conclude the data, the researcher used to result of analyzed data to answer the research problem. The results were described based on the teachers’ perceptions about action learning strategy in improving English speaking skills of the VIII grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah Kupang in the academic year 2020-2021. The results of the study show that: English teachers used action learning strategy in improving students speaking skills, not all of the students can speak well, just a few of them and while they can it is just a little bit, it might be because the students rarely practice speaking. The use of action learning strategy also had the weakness that felt by the teachers that are limited by time, because the teachers are being chased by the curriculum and also have a corridor limit, so it takes too much time. But if divide the time, students can be divided into several parts or groups and practice this action learning with time limit.
