A Study Of Verbs In Kupang Malay Used In The Story Book Entitled “Daniel Pung Carita Dalam Bahasa Kupang”

This thesis is entitled A Study of Verbs in Kupang Malay Used The Story Book Entitled “Daniel Pung Carita Dalam Bahasa Kupang”. The aims of this research were to find out the types of verbs in the story book of daniel entitled “Daniel Pung Carita Dalam Bahasa Kupang”, to find out how are verbs of each type formed, and to find out the functions of verbs in kupang malay used the story book entitled “Daniel Pung Carita dalam Bahasa Kupang”. This research used a qualitative method, to describe the types, functions and fomations of verbs in the story book entitled “Daniel Pung Carita Dalam Bahasa Kupang”. The object of this research is a story book entitled “Daniel pung Carita dalam Bahasa Kupang”. This research was conducted in three weeks in Pasir Panjang, Kupang 4th until 24th July 2021. In collecting the data, the writer used documentary study technique. From the data collection, the writer found that there are eight types of verbs based on semantics properties and valency in the story book entitled “Daniel Pung Carita dalam Bahasa Kupang”. Based on the semantic properties, the writer found five types of verbs comprising action verbs, stative verbs, causative verbs, directional verbs, and motion verb. Based on valency, the writer found three types of verbs including intransitive verbs, transitive verbs, and ditransitive verbs. The eight verbs types are formed by base word into single word verbs, fully reduplication, affixation and serial verbs construction. The function of the eight types of the Kupang Malay verbs is the predicate of each clause.
