OLEH SISWA SMA NEGERI DI KOTA KUPANG

Telah dilakukan penelitian pada siswa SMA Negeri di Kota Kupang, yaitu SMAN 1 Kota Kupang dan SMAN 5 Kota Kupang. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui miskonsepsi pada materi usaha mekanik serta untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor penyebab terjadinya miskonsepsi pada materi usaha mekanik oleh siswa SMA Negeri di Kota Kupang.
Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif-kualitatif. Data kuantitatif berupa tingkat miskonsepsi siswa saat mengerjakan soal pilihan ganda tiga tingkat yang diberikan. Sementara untuk data kualitatif adalah penyebabnya pada konsep Usaha Mekanik yang ditemukan pada siswa melalui wawancara yang dilakukan.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa miskonsepsi pada materi usaha mekanik oleh siswa SMA Negeri di Kota Kupang masuk dalam kategori sedang dengan besar persentase miskonsepsi adalah 32,6% masing-masing pada siswa di SMAN 1 Kota Kupang mengalami miskonsepsi sebesar 27,58% dengan kategori rendah dan siswa di SMAN 5 Kota Kupang mengalami miskonsepsi sebesar 37,6% dengan kategori sedang. Miskonsepsi pada konsep usaha mekanik (22,7%), pemecahan masalah secara ilmiah pada konsep usaha mekanik (27,89%), konsep hubungan antara usaha dan energy (47,95%), dan pemecahan masalah secara ilmiah pada konsep hubungan antara usaha dan energy (31,8%). Sedangkan faktor yang menyebabkan terjadinya miskonsepsi oleh siswa adalah siswa itu sendiri, buku, guru, teman dan referensi belajar dari internet.

This research was conducted on science students at SMA N 1 Kota Kupang and SMA N 5 Kota Kupang, who represent SMA Negeri in Kupang City. The purpose of this study was to determine the misconceptions on mechanical business material by public high school students in Kupang City and to determine the factors that cause misconceptions in mechanical business material by public high school students in Kupang City..
This research is a mixed descriptive study (quantitative-qualitative). With quantitative data, it is the level of understanding of students when working on three levels of multiple choice questions given. Meanwhile, qualitative data is a misconception or wrong understanding and the cause of the mechanical effort concept found in students in the interview tests conducted. Multiple choice diagnostic-based written tests were used to determine the level of students' understanding and misconceptions on mechanical effort. Interviews were conducted to support the data and reveal the factors causing misconceptions.
The results showed that overall misconceptions on mechanical business material by public high school students in Kupang City fell into the "moderate misconception" category with a large percentage of misconceptions was 40.53%. Where science students at SMA N 1 Kupang City experienced misconceptions by 27.58% with the "low misconception" category and science students at SMA N 5 Kupang City experienced misconceptions by 37.6% higher than SMA N 1 Kupang City with the category " moderate misconception ”. The indicators on mechanical business material that are misconceptions by students are summarized, namely the concept of mechanical business, scientific problem solving on the concept of mechanical business, the concept of the relationship between effort and energy, and scientific problem solving on the concept of the relationship between effort and energy. And some of the factors that cause misconceptions by students are the students themselves, books, teachers, friends and learning references from the internet.
